Heading to ICSC Las Vegas? Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned attendee, navigating one of the industry’s biggest events can be overwhelming. Here are some top tips to help you make the most of your time at the convention 💡
1. Plan Ahead
ICSC Vegas is a large event with a high volume of attendees, so using your time effectively is key. To make the most of it, research the attendees and exhibitors in advance so you know which companies or individuals you want to connect with. Check the event schedule and booth location ahead of time to map out your day strategically. If there are specific people you want to meet, we highly recommend reaching out early and scheduling meetings in advance. Also, consider bringing a portfolio or tablet—it’s a great way to showcase properties, work samples, or digital brochures on the spot. Be open to conversations with everyone you meet, and always keep your business cards within reach since you never know when a quick chat could turn into a valuable connection.
2. Wear comfortable shoes
We all know how important it is to be organized and on time. But ICSC Las Vegas adds the obstacle of distance into the mix. The Las Vegas Convention Center is a 3.2 million square foot space, and arriving at your destination can take a lot longer than you think. So, wearing comfortable shoes is a must for those long days with lots of moving around from place to place. High heels are generally a bad idea if you will be walking around between buildings.
3. Be a smart meal planner
For first-time attendees, it’s worth noting that food can be hard to come by in the conference area. While there are shops along the perimeter of conference area, the prices tend to be high, and bringing your own food into ICSC Las Vegas is generally not allowed. 4. Leave time between appointments and Don’t Lose Your Map
It’s good to make the most of your time at ICSC, but be careful not to overbook or overpromise. These exhibit halls are massive. Walking from one end to another can easily take 20 minutes, so here we recommend leaving at least 30 minutes before each appointment to ensure you’re not rushing. Keeping your map handy is essential. As soon as you arrive, mark your appointments on the map and keep an eye out for upcoming booths as you walk to your next meeting. 5. Keep Your Devices Charged and Ready
