Senior Broker Zach Slagle specializes in retail centers, both large and small, with an emphasis on grocery-anchored community and neighborhood centers in the underserved communities of Chicago and its neighboring suburbs. His work on the south and west sides earned him the title of the Underserved Market Expert due to his continued high volume of lease transactions and square footage in these markets. Slagle’s #1 ranking in these markets helped him earn the CoStar PowerBroker award in 2017, a distinction awarded to only the top 20 retail real estate brokers in the Chicagoland area.
Though he has negotiated over 120 lease transactions, Slagle’s expertise expands beyond retail leasing. He has sold multi-family apartment buildings and retail investment properties, and currently leads the company’s acquisition team with SVP, Terri Cox.
Originally from North Texas, Slagle earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Texas Tech University. After graduation, he moved to Chicago to further his career in real estate. Slagle is an active member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and currently serves on the ICSC Next Generation Program Planning Committee. Throughout the last five years, he has been tasked with the committee’s Walking Tour, an event where the 100+ attendees tour innovative retail concepts in up-and-coming, new sub-markets of Chicago.
Previously, Slagle was a member on the associate board for the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, garnering sponsorships and retailer donations for the foundation’s flagship event, Eisenopoly. Slagle remains active with the foundation, regularly attending events, and annually represents Matanky Realty Group at the Career Day.
Slagle is awaiting a comprehensive exam, where upon completion he will be a Certified Commercial Asset Manager (CCIM). He has completed all of the required classes and is eager to earn the designation to better assist his clients.

Both last year, and the 4 years prior, he has dominated the market having executed the highest number of new retail leases in both deal count and square footage leased.
