Senior Broker, Scott Levinson assists PUPS Pet Club in expansionCHICAGO, ILL. – Matanky Realty Group today announces that Senior Broker, Scott Levinson has secured a fourth location for client, PUPS Pet Club.
Since its inception in 1999, the local tenant has grown out of its initial River North location, adding stores in Lakeview (opened Fall 2018), Wicker Park (opened Winter 2018) and Streeterville (opening Spring 2019).
“PUPS [Pet Club] is targeting the best neighborhoods in Chicago,” said Levinson, the club’s tenant representation broker. “Since PUPS is so much more than your typical daycare, groomer or vet, each store is a major amenity for nearby residents. We’re putting PUPS stores in the highest density areas so more dog owners can enjoy the convenience and service that membership brings. We hope to add two more locations in 2019.”
The road to this successful venture has been a long one for founder Dan Rubenstein. After losing his beloved St. Bernard, Sydney, due to a negligent pet care provider, Rubenstein vowed to turn this horrific occurrence into a positive force. The inspired tech junkie left his job with Accenture to dive into the dog care world. He launched a number of pet concepts across the U.S. before settling in Chicago to open the first PUPS location.
The concept ranges in size from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet, with each club offering a variety of services such as daycare, grooming, overnight boarding, training and veterinary care. As the group continues to grow, Rubenstein, affectionately known as “Doggie Dan,” remains guided by the values of fun, safety and exceptional care.
