Zach Slagle specializes in retail centers, both large and small, with a heavy emphasis on grocery-anchored community and neighborhood centers in the underserved communities of Chicago and its neighboring suburbs. He works closely with landlords, tenants, aldermen, municipalities, and city officials in order to bring a healthy tenant mix, that not only benefits landlords, but also the communities in which they serve. Slagle’s clients span the country and include both large REITs and national retailers. He has successfully underwritten and completed RFPs and is currently working on a major redevelopment in Chicago’s inner city. He has successfully negotiated over eighty transactions with local, regional, and national tenants.
Originally from North Texas, Slagle earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Texas Tech University. After graduation he moved to Chicago to launch his career in real estate. Slagle is an active member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and currently serves on the ICSC Next Generation Program Planning Committee. The last three years, he has been tasked with the committee’s Walking Tour, an event where the 100+ attendees tour innovative retail concepts in budding, new sub-markets of Chicago. Slagle was a member on the associate board for the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, garnering sponsorships and retailer donations for the foundation’s flagship event, Eisenopoly. Slagle remains active with the foundation, and regularly attends events and represents Matanky Realty Group at the annual career day.
Slagle was recognized as a CoStar Power Broker in 2017.
