Senior Vice President, Terri Cox, represents seller of historic Swift & Co. slaughterhouse.

Matanky Realty Group today announces that Senior Vice President and Director of Brokerage, Terri Cox has closed on the sale of an 182,029 square-foot industrial building. The property, located at 1443 West 41st Street in Chicago, Ill., sold for an undisclosed price to an undisclosed buyer. The property is situated on 5.32 acres.

Though the seller, MKM Enterprises, utilized the building as a cold and dry storage warehouse, the property had a much more historic past. From the 1800’s through the 1900’s, the building was owned and operated by meatpacking titan, Swift & Co.

“It’s not often that I get to represent such a historic building,” said Cox. “We do a significant amount of work in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, as well as in other underserved markets, but this was an extremely unique opportunity.”

Cox also noted that the building’s age and client’s desired timeline added additional challenges. However, Cox did not seem to notice the pressure, as she successfully determined the building’s best reuse while listing and closing the sale in an eight-month period.

Terri Cox, Senior Vice President and leader for the brokerage arm, is a licensed real estate broker with over 30 years of sales and marketing experience.
